Job Description

The Stock Clerk maintains the overall receiving, stocking, and distribution duties of the General Stores areas. Receives all incoming supply and equipment items per accepted Accounting and Materials Management procedures.Stocks supplies within the General Stores area in pre-determined locations ensuring organization, control and safety.
Fills authorized requisitions for departments as well as delivers direct shipments to user departments.
Supports the Buyer with information and documentation as needed to ensure smooth operational control of the General Stores.
Ensures strict supervision and security of the General Stores and stock supplies. Consistently performs special projects, and assignments in an accurate, efficient and thorough manner.Presents a positive professional image of the hospital to the public, patients, visitors, physicians and other employees.Promotes harmonious relationships within the department and with other hospital departments.Consistently handles telephone information requests with courtesy, accuracy and respect for confidentiality.Consistently demonstrates willingness to assist co-workers in the completion of daily tasks or special projects to support the departments efficiency.Communicates concerns and problems accurately to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.Operates Department equipment safely, i.e. photocopier, dolly.Always maintains and respects department, patient and employee confidentiality.Conforms to hospital policy regarding absences, use of sick time and vacation.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
