Our Geropsychiatric unit specifically focused on the unique physical and emotional needs of the senior adult. Our new Geropsychiatric unit offers the most comprehensive psychiatric program in the Kansas City area.

Our Geropsychiatric team is seeking Staff RN's for both Day and Night shifts. Our RN's work collaboratively as part of a professional and medical team focused on restoring the patients' health by following evidence-based nursing practices, exercising independent judgement and managing complex health issues. Typical RN duties include identification of care needs and individualized care planning, assessing/monitoring physical parameters, monitoring and administering medications all to help optimize the patient's recovery to health, ensure high quality care and provide a safe hospital environment. Education and Work Experience

  1. Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
  2. BLS upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
  4. Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
  5. Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
  6. Behavioral Violence Prevention within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually
