Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Security Manager / Safety Officer is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision and management of the Security staff and responsible for Hospital-wide Safety & Emergency Preparedness Programs. Implements Security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Security Officers? rounds. Coordinates facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors. Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement. Establishes guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care. Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety. Participates in employee awareness and education. Driving as needed for company business. The Security Manager / Safety Officer will ensure that all requirements, regulations and documentation involving the Security, Safety and Emergency Preparedness departments are completed, filed and well maintained. Will investigate and submit reports on assaults, thefts, workplace violence, damage to personal and facility property and all related security issues. The Security Manager / Safety Officer in conjunction with the Director of Plant will be responsible for the overall emergency preparedness of the facility. The Security Manager / Safety Officer will implement all local city/county or federal grants? requirements in the facility. The Security Manager / Safety Officer is responsible for coordinating activities in accordance of multiple local agencies? requirements that implement the program for their respective counties or communities. This position in conjunction with the Director of Plant is responsible for the overall emergency preparedness of the organization and accountable for all matters of emergency preparedness. Identify systems and operational problems and propose solutions. Work to build consensus when departmental response plans diverge. Work with local experts to ensure that emergency preparedness equipment and supplies are available and in good working order. Assists in the coordination of recommending purchase of needed supplies and equipment.
