Responsibilities

The Scheduler performs office operations as follows: opens and closes front office, answers five incoming telephone lines, receives and announces scheduled patients, accepts and verifies patient referrals, schedules patients, registers patients, prepares medical charts, generates new patient packets and evaluation forms, assists patients with completion of forms, translates for patients and staff, generates additional authorization requests, prepares charge sheets, performs charge entry, scans charge sheets, audits daily charges and monthly accounts, prepares TARs, maintains department working files, corresponds with outside medical providers, maintains monthly activity reports, audits inactive charts, disassembles and forwards DC charts to HIM, maintains medical record log of discharged patients, orders office supplies and equipment for patients, performs secretarial, clerical and administrative support as assigned, produces special word processing projects as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required.2. Typing, clerical and computer experience.3. Prefer one year of medical office experience or program certificate.
