Job Description

Responsibilities Registered nurses are committed to improving the health of the individuals and communities we serve, especially those who are poor orvulnerable, supporting our mission in all aspects of their professional practice. This practice includes direct care activities as well as acts ofdelegation, coordination, and collaboration and encompasses all aspects of the nursing process (assessment, Planning, implementation, andevaluation). The registered nurse is accountable for the quality of nursing care that their patients receive and for the conformity of that careto nationally, regionally and locally accepted standards of care and best practice. Education and Work Experience
  1. Current and valid state RN License. BSN Preferred.
  2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  3. ACLS Preferred.
  4. PALS Preferred.
  5. Five years experience in an acute care operating room in the scrub and circulator roles. Preferred competence in the first assistant role foropen heart, major thoracic and vascular surgery. Experience in the first assistant role for other specialties.
  6. Completion of a recognized training program in an RN First Assistant Program.
  7. Certification as an RN First Assistant within one year following meeting the required hours for certification
