Job Description



Responsibilities

Performs security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Security Officers’ rounds.  Coordinates facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors.  Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement. Follows guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care.  Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety.  Participates in employee awareness and education. Public Safety Officers will investigate and submit reports on assaults, thefts, damage to personal and facility property and all related security issues. Safety Officers will protect the hospital’s assets from fire, theft, damage or misuse. Driving as needed for company business.

Qualifications

1-3 years’ experience in hospital/healthcare security, military service, law enforcement or related field required. Behavioral Violence Prevention Training (BVP) within 6 months of hire. Current BLS certificate or within 6 months of hire. High School diploma or equivalent required. OC Spray Certification / Handcuff certification preferred. Additional department specific training required upon hire. Scheduling will include weekend and holiday rotation.
