Overview

 

The Project Engineer is responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goal. The project engineer is the responsible for accomplishing the stated project objectives. Key project management responsibilities include creating clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements, and managing the constraints of the project management triangle, which are cost, time, scope, and quality.

 
Responsibilities

Responsible for planning out each project allocated that will include resource allocation, cost budgeting and meeting timelines to ensure project success.

Leads medical equipment related projects managed or implemented by the organization through the entire project lifecycle ensuring project parameters are met.

Assists the Corporate team to analyze and review project bids, costs and recommend cost effective solutions that will help with cost savings.

Assist in managing external vendors/contractors/consultants and is the primary point of contact for project implementation.

Assists in managing project risks and proposes contingency plans that mitigate them.

Assists in compiling project proposals and presents them to the corporate team.

Works with internal and external project leads at various hospitals to ensure smooth project progression.

Evaluates all project’s progress and provide reporting as needed to the corporate team.

Assists the team in gathering data pertaining to the project that require further analysis and decision making.

Works with intra departments within the organization such as the Clinical, Administration and IT teams.

Ensures compliance to project methodologies and implementation strategies.

Maintains and documents the entire project plan, risk assessment, project timelines, status, notes that pertain to the project.

Document feedback regarding operation of all medical equipment during project implementation and recommend improvements if necessary.

Write training programs and guides in order to assist all healthcare staff in correct machinery utilization.

Provides feedback to continuously improve processes and procedures and ensures adherence to them.

Provides guidance and coaching to project leads that aligns with Prime Healthcare’s vision, missions and goals.

Serves as the primary technical point of contact for all Hospital Executive Leadership and the Corporate Team on all projects assigned.

Responsible to ensure that all scheduled work is accomplished on time, customer needs are met, and the day-to-day operations impacting revenue are communicated as needed and appropriate resources are utilized to minimize any interruptions.

Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with customers.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline with 0-2 years of experience.
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
  3. Experience in designing and implementing business processes that mitigate compliance, regulatory, and legal risks in a hospital environment preferred.
  4. Experience managing revenue generating projects preferred.
  5. Previous Healthcare experience in managing and servicing general and complex medical equipment preferred.
  6. Process improvement skills required.
  7. Strong planning and organization, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  8. Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend solution.
  9. Good general business skills, high degree of confidentiality, maturity, tactfulness and business ethics. High degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity.
  10. Strong written and verbal communications skills. 1 Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  11. Ability to write reports and make presentations on operational and technical issues.
  12. Must have basic knowledge in the use of the following tools: Microsoft Project (EPPM), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  13. Strong computer skills (MS Office, Clinical applications, CMMS systems).
  14. Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics and/or blue prints.
  15. Valid driver's license required.
  16. Ability to travel 50% of the time.
