The position of Practice Manager reports to the CEO, Mission Regional Medical Center.  The Practice Manager is responsible for providing leadership and administrative management to practice operations.  This position includes office-level leadership though planning, developing, and organizing the workflow; directing and evaluating the activities of the practice and of each staff member, managing the financial performance of the practice and promoting the practice within Providence Medical Group, as well as the greater medical community.  The Practice Manager is expected to have a working knowledge of all aspects of the clinical operations and be able to fill in when staffing needs demand, with consideration to any licensing requirements

Leadership of day-to-day functions of office

Budgeting; assist in the development and management of the financial operations and outcomes.

Listen and respond to concerns from physicians, patients and families by demonstrating excellent customer service skills.  Utilize discretion and independent judgment when addressing patient or physician complaints, document findings and forward to appropriate administrative staff.  Handle complaints timely to ensure quick and courteous resolution with diplomacy and tact.

Communicate with patients and family members about provider delays or the need to reschedule appointments or tests.  

Participate in the interview, selection, training, and motivation of employees.  Direct and supervise exempt and nonexempt staff.  Address and respond to staffing problems.  Review, approve, and enter paid time off requests into time and recordkeeping system.  Audit, print, distribute, and collect employee timesheets for bi-weekly payroll.  Complete performance management documents and annual performance appraisals.  

Coordinate the orientation/training of new team members.  Ensure training on specific competencies is complete and current with practice updates

Comply with and enforce the policies and procedures of the practice for clinical, nuclear, echo, scheduling, billing, and medical records departments.  Provide additional oversight to the clinic operations and efficiencies.  Schedule and confirm nursing rotation within specific office.

Manage staffing, equipment, and financial resources for the office to ensure the office operates at highest efficiency level.

Responsible for other duties assigned by the Director.  Collaborate with the Director regarding requests from the physicians.

Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards as applicable.  Ensure correct application of all regulatory standards, maintaining compliance.



  1. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business or related field or a minimum of five years Healthcare leadership/management experience is required.
  2. Medical Group experience preferred.
