Job Description



Overview

Maintains accurate logs on all equipment in hospital and provides for a safe working environment.  Also maintain and repair equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, plant maintenance, and medical gas systems.  Driving as needed for company business.

 

Responsibilities

Starts, adjusts, stops equipment such as generators, turbines, compressors, pumps, engines and other building related equipment..

Observes recorders, meters and gauges on mechanical equipment and records on logs/forms.

Adjusts valves and other controls on mechanical equipment to ensure that readings are within specified ranges for safety, efficiency and economy.

Sets standards for equipment usage.

Monitors and evaluates equipment usage.

Major electrical repairs.

All in-house plumbing repairs.

General welding.

General mechanical repairs

Small appliance repairs.

Inspects the physical plant rooms and all physical plant equipment for safety.

Checks boiler and other building safety shutdown equipment.

Disassembles and cleans boilers and other physical plant equipment periodically

Inspects physical plant equipment while it is in operation, making minor repairs and/or adjustments as needed

Lubricates moving mechanisms on physical plant equipment.

All other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

  • Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blue prints.

  • Valid state driver’s license.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
