Job Description


The Payroll Tax Specialist will support the Corporate Payroll Director in the efficiency and accuracy of payroll tax reporting. The Payroll Tax Specialist will work on the organization tax compliance and processing of tax returns biweekly, quarterly and annually. They will evaluate, validate and analyze payroll documents for accuracy. Provide guidance to staffs and work on any inquiry that pertains to payroll tax issues. They will also assist with registering new entity as needed. The Payroll Tax Specialist will help in facility tax audits as needed


Understands confidentiality and respect for privileged and confidential information and fulfills this requirement.

Working knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and EEOC standards.

Demonstrates knowledge of Human Resources and payroll policies and procedures.

Reconcile payroll tax reports after each payroll process for accuracy.

Report payroll tax payments on a timely manner \u2013 biweekly, quarterly, annually.

Prepare and file tax report/electronic with appropriate federal, state, and local agencies on a timely manner to prevent penalties.

Reconcile W2s total with Payroll Reports for accuracy.

Generates payroll tax reports as needed.

Assist with tax inquiry across Prime entities.

Assist with research of complicated tax issues/penalty across Prime entities.

Assist with new acquisitions as needed.

Performs other duties, project as assigned or required.

Assist with system tax set up across Prime entities.

Assist with tax audits and request from outside vendors.

Assist Corporate Finance of any tax inquiry.

Maintains / updates Meditech/Lawson dictionary in coordination with HR Directors.





  • College Degree preferred.

  • Multi-state knowledge of payroll laws preferred.

  • Knowledge of Tax Compliance preferred.

  • Experience with union collective bargaining agreements and protocols preferred.

  • Hands on experience with audits for 401k, DOL, W/C preferred.
