Job Description

This position is responsible for the deployment of a comprehensive patient experience improvement plan across the continuum of care, as well as coordinating all operations of the Volunteer Services Department for St. Marys General Hospital. This includes recruitment, training, development and implementation of volunteer programs designed to need the needs of the hospital. This position serves as the content and systems expert for the community hospital they serve to accelerate improvement across all patient experience metrics. Must routinely represent the hospital professionally and in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the organization and demonstrate volunteer program impact on patient experience and employee engagement objective metrics. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of and working understanding of hospital mission, policies, compliance, occupational health policies and infection control, state and federal labor practices, and state and federal guidelines concerning volunteer placement; nimble with office software and databases; ability to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations; ability to work seamlessly with staff from throughout the organization and with the public; outstanding ability to multi-task and work with constant interruption while still maintaining focus and meeting outcomes based objective goals and deadlines. Ability to organize and keep a tidy, pleasant environment. Ability to handle confidential information including PHI. Ability to lead and support employee recognition committees and activities. Familiarity with Volgistics or JBDev database a plus.
