Overview JOB SUMMARY:

Design, install, and support the organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), network segment, or Internet system. Maintains network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor the network to ensure availability to system users. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures, including firewalls.

Responsibilities EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Two (2) or more years of applicable work experience
  • Knowledge of servers configurations, active directories, LAN and WAN
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required for all new hires starting 4/1/14
  • Training in windows 2003/2007/2010 servers and exchange server 2003/2007/2010
  • MCP Certification or MSDE Microsoft Certification preferred.
  • CCNA or Similar networking certification preferred.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking
  • A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
  • A working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities
  • Responsible for the management of wide area and local area Network(s), maximizing Network availability and systems utilization and ensuring adequate Network security
  • Performs research, analysis and recommendations for products and services to meet new technologies, and upgrades as organizational needs change
  • Supervises subordinate staff in the execution of assigned duties that support the Network
  • Responsible for the successful deployment of new Network attached devices, including servers, software, and virtual infrastructure
  • Analyzes, monitors and optimizes system/Network performance; performs tuning and capacity planning to enhance performance of the Network
  • Provides input to supervisor for process change, enterprise system priorities and team goals.
  • Manage maintenance and license agreements
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory
  • Perform other duties as assigned
