Job Description


Design, install, and support the organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), network segment, or Internet system. Maintains network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor the network to ensure availability to system users. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures, including firewalls.


Provides technical assistance in matters of equipment and operation system specification and characteristic identification to assist the product teams.

Provides guidance and instructions to staff in any issues beyond their scope to enable to assist the general user populace directly.

Knowledgeable in network communication hardware and software.


Performs day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software supportAssists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plansSystem installation, backup, maintenance and problem solvingAssists in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software supportMaintains LAN / WAN documentation including hardware/software applications, support logs and other related informationAssists in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining network hardwareAnalyzes and troubleshoots the network logs and tracks the nature and resolution of problemsMonitors usage to ensure security of data and access privileges; installs, supports and maintains both physical and virtual network appliancesResearches and evaluates new technologies related to computer networking; assists in planning, coordinating and consulting with vendors; keeps current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements.


Two (2) or more years of applicable work experience

Knowledge of servers configurations, active directories, LAN and WAN

College-Level course work in computer science

Training in windows 2003 servers and exchange server 2003

MCP Certification or MSDE Microsoft Certification preferred

CCNA or Similar networking certification preferred.
