The manager of Critical Care Unit is a registered nurse who assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for the management of all critical care nursing services functions. Supervises, assesses, plans and implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care.  Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations.  Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the unit and effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time responsibilities for the unit and is directly accountable to the Chief Nursing Officer. 


Education, Experience, Training
  • Current and valid NJ State License as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory/management experience required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/critical care setting
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in surgical nursing
  • BLS & ACLS required upon hire and maintain current
  • CNOR preferred
  • Recent experience with Cardio-thoracic Surgical patient preferred
