Job Description

Responsibilities The Manager is responsible for implementation, ongoing management and strategic growth of the program.  The Manager evaluates inpatient wounds, and communicates with physicians / charge nurse / co – workers, as appropriate regarding changes in the patient’s treatment, clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies. Has the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Ultimately, the Manager is accountable for achieving program metrics, and ensuring quality of care.

Education and Work Experience

  • Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
  • BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
  • Previous Wound care knowledge and or experience preferred (1 Year).
  • Wound Care Certification within first year of hire   
  • Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) Certification preferred
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field. Master’s in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration required.

Experience: Three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to manipulate various types of electronic and clinical equipment. Ability to operate specialty equipment related to area of expertise and to perform computer tasks at a 'users' level.

Interpersonal Skills: Must possess the ability to interact and to communicate in English, both orally and written, with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner, based on the patient’s willingness to and ability to learn.  Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.

Age-Specific Criteria: Possesses the knowledge and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. Possesses the knowledge of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served as well as the knowledge to perform treatments and interpret data specific to that patient group.
