Job Description

Responsibilities The Lead Customer Service Representative is responsible for the daily intake of member and provider phone calls with regards to referrals for the employee / dependent medical benefits plan, searching PAS tool system, and faxing/mailing to members and providers. Through inter-professional collaboration with all aspects of the Employee Health Plan Department, The Lead Customer Service Representative will act as point-of-contact to provide guidance and resolution for complex member or provider calls that require escalation, as well as assist with monitoring phone queues and daily stats to ensure quality customer service and efficient department functionality.

Required qualifications:

  1. High School Graduate or GED.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Customer Service within a health plan and/or healthcare setting.
  3. Ability to handle a high call volume in a professional and courteous manner.
  4. Working knowledge of self-funded medical plans and/or Managed Care plans.
  5. Computer literate in Microsoft Office Windows
Preferred qualifications:

  1. Prior experience in a Team Lead / Supervisory position
