Job Description


Maintains accurate logs on all equipment in hospital and provides for a safe working environment.

Also maintain and repair equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, plant maintenance, and medical gas systems.

Driving as needed for company business.


1. Starts, adjusts, stops equipment such as generators, turbines, compressors, pumps, engines and boilers.

2. Observes recorders, meters and gauges on mechanical equipment and records information on logs/forms.

3. Adjusts valves and other controls on mechanical equipment to ensure that readings are within specified ranges for safety, efficiency and economy.

4. Inspects the physical plant mechanical equipment and physical plant rooms for safety and proper operation of safety equipment

5. Disassembles and cleans physical plant mechanical equipment as required by manufacturer recommendations and as needed to maintain acceptable appearance

6. Inspects physical plant mechanical equipment while it is in operation, making minor repairs and/or adjustments as needed

7. Services physical plant mechanical equipment as required by manufacturer recommendations

8. Performs general painting duties to both the interior and exterior of the building

9. Performs all required prep work (sanding, caulking, primer/sealer, plaster holes, covers items with drop cloth, etc) prior to painting

10. Paint equipment as required to maintain acceptable appearance and protect surfaces

11. Minor electrical repairs and installation of electrical fixtures and circuits

12. Minor plumbing repairs and installation of plumbing fixtures

13. Installs handrails, doors, dispenser units, and other items that must be affixed to the building structure

14. General mechanical repairs and adjustments to building equipment

15. Appliance/equipment repairs.

16. All other duties as assigned or requested.


1. Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blue prints.

2. Valid current state driver’s license.

3. Minimum 0-1 years healthcare experience preferred.

4. High School diploma or equivalent required
