Overview
Reporting to the Vice President for Medical Groups, this position is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of all policies, procedures and processes to optimize revenue cycle for Medical Groups affiliated with Prime hospitals. Prime Medical Groups employ or contract with approximately 500 providers (physicians and APPs) across 14 states. This position will work with all medical groups to optimize revenue cycle operations, as well as evaluate whether to insource or outsource billing operations.

Responsibilities

Ensures that current files of job applicants for various positions in the hospital are in compliance. Maintains personnel records in an accurate manner in files and HRIS system.Promotes programs with the approval of the executive staff that enhance employee morale.Interviews job applicants as necessary to ensure a capable workforce, and work on retention programs. Supervises and maintains job evaluation program.Is familiar with organization and maintains charts of organization.Conducts audits to ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Ensures compliance with pay practices and compensation guidelines. Assists with in-service education programs.Conducts annual salary and wage comparison for leadership. Conducts special studies in problem areas.Monitors position control systems using spreadsheets or our computerized payroll/personnel module.Provides for the professional growth and development of employees through identification of needs, training programs, encouraging education efforts and evaluation of it.Consults with Hospital employees on a regular basis to keep lines of communication open in order to maintain positive staff morale and a professional and productive atmosphere within the institution.Participates in recruitment, interviewing and selection of staff for the Hospital.Provides Leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives.Consistently demonstrates positive, interpersonal relations with all constituencies; cooperates harmoniously with others in the accomplishment of the Hospital’s strategic goals and objectives.Provides for professional growth and development through identification of needs, supervising training programs, encouraging education efforts and evaluation of it.Counsels employees and as necessary, takes appropriate disciplinary action for infractions of policy.Plans, implements, and maintains staffing pattern for the Hospital.Effectively directs and supervises all department activities through staff members. Maintains a strong and capable department team.Provides assistance to hospital personnel in establishing hospital philosophies, strategic objectives, and standards of productivity as required.Assists in establishing Policies and Procedures for the Hospital to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and ordinances.Actively contributes to and participates on various committees as appropriate.Consistently combines ethical judgment with technical skills within the policy and legal guidelines of the Hospital. Understands, the legal, social, economic, and political forces, which influence the health care system.Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Accounting, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration preferred or at least 7 years of relevant experience required.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of seven (7) years of healthcare accounting or office management experience, with at least 5 years in management of billing and collections for a physician practice or medical group.
Three (3) years supervisory experience required.
CPC (Certified Procedural Coder) preferred.
Job requires approx. 40% travel to various Medical Groups.
