Job Description


Organizes and directs the marketing, branding, internal and external communications, media relations, community relations and advertising to develop and build consumer preference and demand for the hospital. Serves as the hospital spokesperson and is responsible for developing positive media relations and community relations. Ensures the quality and effectiveness of the hospital marketing, communications and PR efforts, and ensures that the marketing communications strategy is aligned with the strategic direction of the hospital.


1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Communications or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
2. Must have at least 8 years of experience in public relations, marketing, advertising or related field; at least 5 years of experience in health care or related field.
3. Three years managerial experience a plus.
4. A track record of effectively dealing with senior level executives, physicians, and board members.
5. Experience with creative software and internet applications, including social media.
6. Knowledge of marketing practices and research. Skill in conducting and evaluating marketing research and statistical computations to implement marketing communications strategies.
7. Strong communication and relationship building skills; excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communications skills.
