LEAD CLS III - LIS/POC - FULL TIME - AM SHIFT - 8 HRS - NON UNION
CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

Responsibilities


  • Functions as the department Section Supervisor or Lead, responsible for supervising the daily operation of the section(s)
  • Provides consultative services to the medical staff in the capacity of Technical Consultant
  • Oversees the section/department performance improvement program and participates in hospital interdisciplinary performance improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for the technical and fiscal management of the section(s)
  • Oversees the section(s) quality management/assurance program
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Assesses staff competency and completes performance evaluations in a timely manner
  • Ensures the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting
  • Develops, maintains and updates section policy and procedure manuals
  • Reviews quality control performance ensuring documentation of corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
  • Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and either correct the problem or immediately notify the, Director, or Medical Director

    Qualifications


    • ASCP certification, or equivalent, required.
    • Minimum five years OF CLS/LIS hospital laboratory work experience required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related fields accredited by CLIA REQUIREMENTS.
    • Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required.
