Overview
JOB SUMMARY: Hours from 1930 to 0400. Night Shift 8hr - Responsible to supervise, coordinate and evaluate nursing care in the Behavioral Health units, in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act, Standard of Practice and facility policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Program Director in the implementation of the philosophy and objectives for Behavioral Health. Supervise/coordinate all nursing activities to achieve and maintain efficient and competent nursing practices and promote harmonious relationships among personnel supervised, medical staff, patients and internal customers. Define and prioritize goals for self and subordinates. Evaluate performance of nursing personnel and nursing care and suggests modifications. Oversees the provision of patient care for adults and older adult patients. Continually assess care and directs staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care. Reviews and presents all admission intakes. Facilitates admissions in a timely manner. Obtains and enters verbal orders from Admitting Physician. Upon patient arrival, completes Admission documentation, working closely with staff RN to facilitate new admission handoff. Evaluates patients in crisis and through assessments ascertains if admission criteria is met. Post evaluation of aforementioned patients. Q2hr follow-up on patient’s status in ED to facilitate admission to unit(s). Performs Chart Audits. Assigned other duties as necessary.
 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING  1. Current and valid state RN License 2. Previous supervisory experience, preferred. 3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in acute care hospital 4. BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. 5. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) within 3 months of employment.
