Overview For 30 years, the People's Clinic for Better Health has been providing care to the uninsured and underinsured.  A subsidiary of the Lake Huron Foundation, a 501c3 public charity and solely funded by grants and generous donors, the People's Clinic mission has been to care for those in the community that are uninsured or underinsured.

 

In 2019, more than 2,200 primary care visits were provided for St. Clair County uninsured or underinsured residents.  Providing non-emergency maintenance care of chronic illnesses, wellness check-ups, lab testing and social services counseling; our, patients receive much more than a simple phyhsician visit.  The People's Clinic is located in St. Clair County Community Mental Health (CMH) building, providing an integrated healthcare process to the individuals that receive behavioral healthcare through CMH.

Responsibilities The Nurse Practitioner focuses on providing general care to patients of all ages, with utmost patience, care, compassion and understanding.� Perform tasks within their scope of practice which may include conducting tests, recording medical histories, providing treatments, assisting physicians and enhancing public awareness on the importance of health, and prescribing medications.�

Education and Work Experience

  1. MSN with specialization as an ARNP.
  2. Current state license as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
  3. DEA license will be required for position.
  4. BLS upon hire and maintain current.
  5. One to two years of experience as a nurse practitioner with focus on Medicaid or Community Clinic patient population preferred.
  6. Previous experience with electronic health record.
