Responsibilities
Sterile Processing8 hr, varied shiftFull time The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.
Education and Work Experience Medical Terminology desirable.Minimum 6 months acute patient care facility preferred. High School diploma or GED equivalent.Ability to read, comprehend and communicate effectively in writing. Skills to maintain active communications with surgical staff.Central Supply Certified preferred.At least 2 years experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.Employees must be in their current position for a minimum of six calendar months and not received any disciplinary action within the last six months to apply and be considered for a transfer.
