Job Description

Responsibilities RADIATION THERAPY

8 HR, DAY SHIFT

FULL-TIME

 

Performs all of the functions of Saint Mary's Cancer Registry, including case finding, case coding and abstracting, follow-up, data entry, State and all other required data reporting, and Cancer Conference (Tumor Boards). Accurately collects data and meets deadlines. Identifies (case finding), abstracts and enters data in the computer system all oncology patient medical records identified by Pathology and medical record disease indices, follow-up, Cancer Committee meetings, Tumor Board Conferences, policies/procedures, quality improvement activities, study requests, and quality control. Work with oncology team members and other hospital departments to assure that all cancer program standards are in place and functioning.

Education and Work Experience
  1. Minimum two (2) years direction and coordination of the Cancer Registry.
  2. Bachelor degree in Health/Biology or related field preferred.
  3. Certification as a Tumor Registrar (C.T.R.).
  4. Knowledge of American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, Cancer Program Accreditation Standards.
  5. Knowledge of American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Registry reporting requirements.
  6. Strong computer skills required.
  7. Excellent telephone, communication and writing skills.
  8. Knowledge of principles and practices of organization.
  9. Previous customer service experience.
  10. Previous filing, sorting and addressing experience.
