Job Description

This position will drive business value by supporting Revenue Cycle management in the analysis of Revenue Cycle data, as well as proactive identification and implementation process improvement opportunities by applying analytical and critical thinking to generate innovative and practical solutions that drive organizational results through increasing revenues and efficiencies. This position will be able to function as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Revenue Cycle operations for strategic project implementations. Additionally, the Business Analyst will serve as the liaison and point of contact between teams and departments to ensure the initiatives and requirements are being met.
Identify revenue cycle trends utilizing real data, compile analysis reports that are delivered to Revenue Cycle staff and follow-up on all resultsDetermine and document user/vendor requirements for business processes and abide by those requirements for future projectsCommunicate and deliver change management initiatives to all revenue cycle staff.Be able to identify leakages in revenue cycle through dataOwn and develop relationship with revenue cycle staff and vendors and work with them to optimize and enhance our integrationReport on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product and vendor teamConstantly be on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver better value to the appropriate end usersConduct comparative charge data analyses at the procedure code level to identify pattern distribution variances; presents variance analysis to clinical service line leaders for validation; develops supplemental training materials to support appropriate charge determination practices.Document all new business and process improvement initiativesServe as the SME on assigned systems; design and provide formal training to revenue cycle staff as requestedCoordinate project delivery by participating in design reviews and status meetings with all internal and third party teamsProactively updates management on project or operation risksUnderstand and manage personal access to all facility electronic medical record systems for report writingDevelop additional charge capture policies and procedures as necessary to supplement and/or clarify existing documentation.Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration or other healthcare related profession or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Revenue Cycle processes and applications such as billing, coding, reimbursement methodologies, claim denial, etc.
  • Proficient in business software applications
  • Working knowledge of windows based personal computers
  • Ability to use independent judgement and decision-making
  • Possesses project management, change management and analytical skills necessary to develop and implement appropriate changes.
