Job Description

Overview
The Bio-Med Specialist II performs maintenance and repair of high-end specialty medical equipment associated with the Equipment Management Program under the direction of the Bio-Med Director. Specialty medical equipment consists of high-end general bio-med equipment, general X-Ray equipment, and High-end X-Ray Equipment (CT, Nuc Med, MRI, Cath Lab, etc.). This individual has received Specialty Technical Training and is certified to work on High \u2013end specialty equipment. At the clinical level, this individual will create the impression carried by the facility clinical staff. Pride and professionalism, as well as technical expertise, must be exhibited at all times for the success of all concerned.

Responsibilities

Works the assigned hours per day and is rarely tardy. Misses a minimal number of days due to unscheduled absences.Responds to pages and messages in a timely fashion.Maintains a clean and well organized work area. Completes, organizes and prioritizes Planned and Corrective Maintenance documentation as assigned.Maintains a professional appearance.Exhibits the technical skills required to service and maintain specialty medical equipment within the hospital setting.Assures timely and appropriate response to equipment service requests and tracks and communicates the progress and completion of repairs to both the clinical staff and his or her manager.Ensures that all appropriate service documentation is accurately completed in accordance with the BSI Policy and Procedure manual.Inputs Planned Maintenance and Service information into the BSI system as requested by the Account Coordinator/Admin Director.Communicates pertinent information to hospital staff, shop staff and the Account Coordinator. Ensures that all information required for BSI and the hospital clinical staff is available to accomplish their missions in a proactive and cost conscious manner.Understands the needs and pressures on the clinical staff in the account and works to ensure that the BSI program is viewed as an integral and important asset to all staff.Proactively assumes responsibility for reviewing, understanding and following all BSI policies and procedures as outlined in the BSI manual.Works positively and proactively with ALL BSI staff toward the common goal of ensuring the success of the Account.Attempts to find and communicate opportunities to improve the performance of the BSI program.Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Ability to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blue prints.2. Two years’ experience in the field of Bio-Medical instrumentation service and maintenance. 3. Certificate in specialty modality preferred.4. Associate’s degree in Biomedical Technology or equivalent preferred.
