Overview
PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Knowledgeable of Personnel Policies procedures and practices. Keeps self updated with new regulations applicable to the department. Knowledge of all employee benefits; including the functionality of a self funded medical plan.
  • Familiar with the Human Resources System as they apply to Human Resources Procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in proper customer service skills procedures.
  • Familiar with new regulations as they apply to day to day operations of the department.
  • Familiar with the coordination and management of employee benefits.
  • Familiar with ERISA, HIPAA and COBRA regulations.
  • Familiar with internal systems related to claims and benefits such as PsiMed, Meditech and on-line enrollment platforms.

Responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains employee/members personnel files and other relevant files current as they apply to benefits.
  • Answer incoming phone calls from benefit members. Assist the member by answering questions related to benefits or direct the call to the appropriate extension.
  • Screens visitors, and mail. Handles all phone calls in a professional, courteous and friendly manner.
  • Assists with obtaining enrollment, deduction, PCP or any other benefit related reports and keeping members census data up to date.
  • Responds to the status of member and provider claim issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintains the benefits filing system keeping all documents HIPAA compliant.
  • Notifies all benefit coordinators of the quarterly PCP change periods. Provide sample memo and change form. Processes computer input of PCP changes as needed.
  • Assists with coordination of the annual benefits open enrollment.
  • Coordinates the distribution of annual notifications to employees / members; 5500 SAR and Summary Plan Description’s.
  • Maintains intranet site for Corporate Benefits Department.
  • Coordinates ancillary RFP’s for voluntary programs offered in the community (Gym / Fitness discounts, Employee Discount promotions, Credit Unions etc.)
  • Assists former employees with COBRA questions and direct them to the appropriate vendor. Ensures that information is processed correctly and processes all transactions.
  • Assist with Meditech projects as they relate to the benefits department.
  • Sends reminders for Performance evaluation reviews to all department managers and follows up with any delinquent Performance Evaluations.
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality for all Personnel matters and ensures proper confidentiality of all documents and communication.
  • Deals with employee requests, questions, or concerns in a courteous, professional, efficient and effective manner following the company’s expectation of providing excellent customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • High School education or its equivalent preferred; college degree desired.
  • Previous experience coordinating employee benefits, e.g. health, dental, vision coverage, etc.
  • Must speak, read, and write English with the ability to compose correspondence displaying good command of the English language.
  • General office and/or Personnel related experience is required.
