Job Description

Overview The role is primarily responsible for engineering and supporting technology solutions to support collaboration across sites and conference rooms.

This includes a wide range of A/V, Video Conferencing, and Collaboration Technologies. The A/V Technician will manage and maintain all A/V equipment and communication tools. This includes ensuring that equipment is working properly, setting up equipment and serving as technical support after initial setup.



Responsibilities Installation and setup of projectors, wired and wireless speaker points, teleconferencing equipment, and flat panel displays.


Installation and setup of rack mounted A/V equipment such as tuners, receivers, HDMI splitters, switchers, and amplifiers


Installation of interactive education based equipment like intelligent white boards, lecterns, and carts


The A/V Services tech should be able to operate, troubleshoot, and when necessary teach and guide others through the following areas of technology:

• Plasma & LCD Displays
• AV Control: Crestron and Extron
• Projectors
• Video Conferencing: Cisco, Avaya, Polycom
• Audio/Mic Systems: Push-to-Talk-Mics and Wireless Mics
• Video Production Systems
• Digital Signage
• Audio and The Web Conferencing


Monitor overall operational health of conference room based systems


Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required qualifications:

    3+ years of experience managing and coordinating all aspects of audio visual and video teleconferencing activities for corporate facilitiesExperience with various A/V systems including Polycom, Avaya, Microsoft, and CiscoFamiliar with digital/analog mixing consoles, wireless microphone units, parametric equalizers, audio recording devices and send/receive audio feeds from outside sources.Must be able to construct and dismantle projection screens as well as video monitor stands. Route video signals to recording hardware, projectors, LCDs, and various other mediums.Familiar with the setup, wiring and timing of the video systems. The Video Technician also color-match and shade cameras. Familiar with the operation of professional media playback systems, with a complete understanding of Video Teleconferencing systems, Playback Pro, and other digital playback systemsExcellent computer skills with knowledge of Mac & PC operating systems.Excellent skills in PowerPoint and Keynote programs.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to plan and manage work responsibilities under time constraints, without direct supervisionCompetent in MS applications – Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Visio, FrontPage, Word, Internet, and Outlook. Prior usage of Asset Management software a plus
