Responsibilities

Department: SMMG CardiologyStatus: Full TimeShift: Days

The RN is directly responsible for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Incumbent is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Position requires patient privacy and confidentiality.

 

Additional Position Information: 

Evaluates and provides assessment of patient care through telephone triage and facilitates communication between providers and patients that is accurate and concise.

Returns phone calls and documents interactions in EMR.

Ensure patients' questions and concerns are accurately addressed.

Demonstrates the knowledge and cardiology background and skills necessary to communicate as a liaison between patients and providers, both verbally and via EMR communication.

Ability to multitask and manage a large volume of phone calls, including lab results, surgical clearance and disability forms, medication refills and keep the Providers advised of critical issues.

 

 

 

Qualifications

1. Recent RN experience preferred. 2. Completion of an RN program from an accredited School of Nursing required. 3. Must be able to communicate in English (Speak, Write) Current and valid Nevada RN License required.4. BLS (AHA) certification required. 5. ACLS (AHA) certification required within 90 days of hire.

 

Employees must be in their current position for a minimum of six calendar months and not received any disciplinary action within the last six months to apply and be considered for a transfer.
