Job Description


Employee Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  The employee must communicate his/her schedule availability two (2) weeks prior to the start of the new schedule.  Once shifts/hours are scheduled and approved, the employee is committed to work.  Notification of absence will be communicated in accordance with policy. Employee Availability for Per Diem Personnel: 1. Scheduled to work in areas at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center for which qualified personnel are utilized according to organization and business needs. 2. Required to provide a schedule to work at least six (6) shifts per four week period with two (2) of these shifts scheduled for the weekends. a. Weekends begin on Friday at 6pm and end on Monday at 6:30am. 3. Pre-scheduled to work a minimum of one (1) winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years) and one (1) summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day).


RN Float Pool RN Employee Requirements: 1. One(1) year minimum acute care experience. The employee is required to possess prior to hire and maintain a current California RN license, BLS, ACLS and any other required certification. ED: must have PALS and MAB. 2. The Telemetry competent RN will be floated to the following areas as needed: a. Medical Unit b. Surgical Unit c. Custody Unit d. Acute Rehab Unit e. Or on occasion float to ICU to care for lower level of care patients until appropriate beds are available. 3. The Critical Care and Emergency Department competent RN will be floated to the following areas as needed: a. Medical Unit b. Surgical Unit c. Telemetry Unit d. Custody Unit e. Acute Rehab Unit f. PACU for recovery of ICU patient until appropriate beds are available (as overflow) 4. The RN shall have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in at least two specialty areas a. Specialty areas are: ED, ICU and Tele i. Will consider experience in other areas based on the needs of Alvarado Hospital Medical Center
