Job Description

Responsibilities

The resident shall be a full-time podiatrist who rotates through St. Mary's General Hospital and shall be responsible to the Director of the Residency program or his designee. The resident shall accept all hospital and clinic assignments. A resident is responsible, as are all physicians, for keeping accurate and complete medical records.  All records must be completed in a timely manner. The resident shall complete all medical records and patient charts for which he/she is responsible promptly and in accordance with St. Mary's General Hospital policies. The patient's chart should be completed within twenty-four (24) hours after the patient’s discharge and must be countersigned by the attending physician. Failure to complete clinical records in a timely manner shall be considered a serious abrogation of the resident’s responsibility, and appropriate action, including a possible time delay in the completion of the residency, may be imposed.  If the failure to complete records (or other applicable medical records is persistent, dismissal from the training program may be considered. The resident shall also perform all the duties and essential job functions of for the Podiatry Residents and as presently stated in the Residency Manual.

 
Qualifications

Experience:

4 years - 6 years

 

Quaifications:

- Completion of four-year curriculum required by accredited Podiatry Medical School

- Completion of a Centralized Application Services for Podiatric Residences (CASPR) application
