Job Description

Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting physicians and other members of the healthcare team with patient care, clerical, environmental and organization tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management.  Accompanies patients to exam/procedure room, assists patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc. Obtains weight, age, TPR, blood pressure, administers vaccinations and documents information in patient charts. Performs venipuncture to obtain specimens for testing. 
 
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
  • Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
  • Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
    Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):
  • Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
