Job Description



Overview

Paralegal who works closely with corporate real estate team to perform a wide variety of real estate related paralegal tasks, including, but not limited to template document drafting, document review, land use and real estate tax filings, etc. Responsible for completing promissory agreements, legal descriptions of property and title affidavits, distributing real estate documents, conducting research, analyzing title documents and explaining real estate codes to internal clients. Works on special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities


  • Coordinating due diligence for a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including, acquisitions and dispositions, borrowings, etc.

  • Working closely with title companies to clear title and obtain title policies.

  • Preparing and filing a variety of documents, including, deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, UCC financing statements, etc.

  • Reviewing and summarizing title commitments and surveys.

  • Reviewing and summarizing UCC, judgment, tax and other lien searches.

  • Obtaining permits and other documents from governmental agencies.

  • Coordinating with various governmental offices boards, and agencies (i.e., Zoning Boards, Boards of Adjustment, etc.)

  • Attending zoning and other types of administrative hearings as necessary.

  • Preparing and distributing closing binder.

  • Preparing closing checklists and coordinate the closing process for various transactions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.



Qualifications


  • High School Diploma and Paralegal Certification required

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in law firm, in-house legal department, or title company setting performing real estate related paralegal tasks.

  • Substantial experience with template lease drafting and completion (including renewals, amendments, termination notices, etc.)

  • Substantial experience with drafting corporate resolutions (C-Corp, S-Corp, LLC, LLP, etc.), related to real estate holdings and/or transactions.

  • Substantial experience with the completion and processing of corporate real estate related filings; hospital/healthcare related real estate filings preferred.
