Overview  

Our Senior Behavioral Health unit at Saint John Hospital is a 30-bed unit that provides personalized care for adults over 55 years of age experiencing acute symptoms associated with dementia and/or a mental health condition such as: bi-polar, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, etc.  Our interdisciplinary approach includes a highly qualified and experienced team of professionals who offer a variety of treatment modalities.

 

Saint John Hospital’s Senior Behavioral Health Center is located in Leavenworth, KS, just thirty minutes from downtown Kansas City.

 

Serving the needs of the Leavenworth community since 1864, Saint John Hospital continues in the spirit of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. Responsibilities Work Hours/Shift

 

Per Diem - Variable

 

Duties:

  • Assist with activities of daily living.
  • Provide basic nursing care to non-critical patients.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
 

Education and Work Experience

  1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
  2. Current BLS.
  3. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  4. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
  5. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
