Job Description


The Manager serves as the primary contact and representative for the Health Informatics department. With an understanding of the scope of services for the department, manager works towards accomplishing its goals. The Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and influencing department activities and enduring maintenance of hospital medical records while maintaining continuous quality improvement. The Manager maintains operations within budgetary parameters. Effectively interacts with patients, their significant others and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional service.


Education and Work Experience

  • Prior management or supervisory experience REQUIRED

  • Must be knowledgeable regarding the Health Information Management Department processes and its application in the evaluation of qualitative issues.

  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation; required

  • Successful completion of college level courses in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology; required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field is required.

  • Master's Degree in healthcare related field is preferred.

  • Should have RHIA or actively perusing and acquire within one year of employment.

  • Experience in EHR platforms and software required.

  • Training in state Consent Law and HIPAA Privacy/Security; highly desired.

  • Completion of a management or business course; preferred.
